How to Make a 100×100 Circle in Minecraft

How to Make a 100x100 Circle in Minecraft
Quick answer

A 100-block circle is big enough for a city wall, a mega farm or a giant arena. Building it by eye is almost impossible, but with a blueprint and a simple method it’s very doable.

The numbers

  • Outline (one block thick): 280 blocks.
  • Filled disc: 7,860 blocks (122 stacks + 52).
  • Even size: 100 has a 2×2 centre. Choose 101 if you need a single centre block (284 outline blocks).

How to build it

  1. Mark the centre and write down its coordinates.
  2. Run four straight lines 50 blocks out from the centre (north, south, east, west). Use a cheap block every 10 blocks to save time.
  3. Build the flat caps. At each end, the circle has a flat run of 14 blocks centred on the line.
  4. Fill one quarter using the run lengths from the generator. Near the caps the runs are long; toward the 45° diagonal they become single blocks.
  5. Mirror the other three quarters, then fly up and check.

Tips for survival

  • Use Litematica: download the .litematic file and follow the hologram.
  • Build the guide in dirt, then replace it.
  • Divide the work with friends – one quarter each.

With WorldEdit

//hcyl stone 50 1

This makes a 101-block ring (WorldEdit only does odd sizes).

What to build with a 100-block circle

  • A walled city with gates on the four flat sides.
  • A giant arena or race track.
  • A circular farm with water channels like spokes.
  • A round island base surrounded by water.

What about a 50×50 circle?

A 50-block circle uses 140 blocks as an outline and 1,976 blocks filled. A 51-block circle has a single centre block, which is easier to line up with doors and paths.

Tips for very large circles

  • Put a marker every 10 blocks along your guide lines – it’s easy to lose count.
  • Build on flat ground or clear the area first.
  • Use a Litematica schematic so you don’t have to count at all.
