How to Use Litematica for Circles, Spheres and Domes

How to Use Litematica for Circles, Spheres and Domes
Quick answer

Litematica shows a see-through hologram of a build in your world. Load a .litematic file from our generator and you just fill in the blocks. No counting.

What is Litematica?

Litematica is a free client-side mod for Minecraft Java Edition. It loads a schematic (a saved build) and shows it as a hologram in your world. Wrong blocks show in red, missing blocks in blue. It works in single player and on servers, because it only runs on your computer.

1. Install Litematica

  1. Install the Fabric mod loader for your Minecraft version.
  2. Download Litematica and MaLiLib for the same version.
  3. Put both .jar files in your .minecraft/mods folder and start Minecraft with the Fabric profile.

2. Download your shape

Open the circle, sphere, dome or oval generator. Set the size, fill, block type and height, then click Download .litematic. Move the file into .minecraft/schematics.

3. Load and place it

  1. Press M to open the Litematica menu, then Load Schematics.
  2. Select the file and click Load Schematic. It appears at your feet.
  3. Open Schematic Placements (M → Loaded Schematics) to move it with the arrow buttons, or hold Alt and scroll with the stick tool.
  4. When it’s in the right spot, lock the placement so it can’t move by accident.

4. Build it

In survival, just place blocks where the hologram is. Use M → Schematic Verifier to find any missing or wrong blocks. Use M → Material List to see how many blocks you need (it matches the generator’s count).

In creative or on a server where you have permission, Litematica’s paste feature can place the whole build at once.

Tips

  • For spheres and domes, use the render layers option to show one layer at a time.
  • Our .litematic files are made for Minecraft 1.20 and newer. Litematica updates older files automatically.
  • Swap the block type in Litematica with the “replace” option if you change your mind.

Litematica tool modes (the stick)

Litematica’s main tool is a normal stick. Hold it and press Ctrl + scroll wheel to switch modes. The most useful ones are:

  • Area Selection – left-click and right-click two corners to select a build you want to save.
  • Schematic Placement – move, rotate or mirror the loaded schematic.
  • Paste Schematic – places the whole build at once (creative or with permission).
  • Delete and Fill – creative helpers.
